Do You Dare?

Next morning, Zoe woke up to a bright sunny day. Jumping out of bed, she stretched and yawned. She opened her curtains and sighed, looking up at the house on the hill. Is it really worth it? she thought. I think so.

Zoe hurried to finish her breakfast. She wanted to get this job over and done with; she wanted to be able to watch the Match at 1:00.
'Hey, slow down! What's the rush?' her mum asked looking at her daughter with a raised eyebrow. Zoe shrugged.
'Nothing.' But Ryan had to rat on her.
'She's going to the Miller's house. This guy asked her to get something for him from there.' Ryan grinned as he saw his little sister glaring at him. Their mum's eyes were wide. She stared at Zoe.
Uh oh, Zoe thought. I'm in trouble.

Her mum launched into a lecture on how dangerous the house was, with its smashed windows, weak flooring, the disgusting little creatures in there. How the house is cursed and she'd be cursed if she went in. Zoe rolled her eyes. How superstitious could people get?
'Ok mum. I won't go. I think I'll go over to Tanya's house. We'll probably go down to the park, meet up with friend ya know?'
'That's a good idea Zoe, have fun darling!' Mrs Jones called as Zoe got out the door.
Ryan gaped, how could his mum fall for that?

She stood in front of the house. By the gates, Jack was there waiting for her before she came.
'You know what your doing right? The room where there's only one wardrobe. You go up the stairs, and its the room on the right at the end of the corridor,' he explained the route. Zoe nodded.
'Okie dokie,' making a mental note of where the room was. Jack grinned.
'Well in you go then! I'll give you the £20 when you come out, that alright?' Once again, Zoe nodded solemnly. Suddenly, she didn't feel so brave.
She made her way up the path and slowly pushed the door open. A chill went down her spine as she stepped in. Everything seems scaringly quiet. She left the door wide open. The hallway led to the kitchen and there were two other rooms on the left. Zoe started for the stairs. Each step made each stair creak. Just three stairs up, the front door shut with a loud BANG! She spun round and saw the door closed. A cold finger tapped her on the shoulder.

Ryan &+ the Warning

That night as Zoe was about to switch her bedroom light off, someone knocked on her door.
'Zoe, can I come in?' she recognised the voice of her brother.
'Come in!' she called out. Ryan came in with a serious face on. He sat down on her computer chair.
'Look Zoe, are you sure you wanna go to the Miller's house? You know that people who have entered have been cursed. Do you want that to happen to you?'
'Ryan, it's my life - not yours so butt out of it. Doing this, I'll get an extra £20. So why not do it?'
'Well what's more serious? Getting £20 or being cursed for the rest of your life?'
'Oh c'mon! Don't tell me you really believe all that bull? And anyway, you know I really need that £20 to get that handbag,' Zoe insisted. Ryan sighed. Once his little sister decided on something, she was never going to change her mind.
'Ok fine, ruin your life if you want to. Goodnight and good luck,' he wished.
'Thanks bro, night!' she called as Ryan exited the room.

The Task

Zoe was talking with her older brother when Jack came up to them.
'Oi Zoe! Think you can go into the Miller's house up on the hill to get me summert?' he asked. Zoe lifted her head up.
'Depends what the thing is want me to get,' she smirked.
'Oryt, it's a book. And I've ased a couple of people to get it but they're little cowards,' he explained. Ryan, Zoe's older brother, raised his eyebrow.
'Why not get it yerself eh?' he asked.
'Shut up Ryan. So Jack Ima gonna have to charge yer ok? How much then?' Zoe asked.
'£5 oryt?' Jack offered. Zoe laughed.
'You'll have to find someone else then, soz.'
'Fine, fine. What bout £20?' he asked again. Zoe thought about it and glanced at Ryan. He shrugged. She Shrugged as well. Then she decided and nodded.
'Sure why not? Which room am I gonna have to get this book from eh?'
